Rotary District 9465 Governor Wayne Milnes, accompanied by his wife Suzanne and Assistant Governor Marg Pantall, attended the Rotary Club of Pinjarra meeting of 13th February 2020.
District Governor Wayne was delighted to present Pinjarra's Immediate Past President Geoff Booth with a Rotary International Presidential Citation Award for the Club's work during the 2018-19 Rotary Year.
To be eligible for the Rotary Citation, rhe Rotary International rules require that clubs begin the Rotary year (July-June) as active clubs in good standing and remain so throughout the year.
The purpose of the award is to recognize clubs and districts that have implemented programs which demonstrably improve the image of Rotary in their communities.
When District Governor Wayne presented Past President Geoff Booth with the Award Certificate, he noted that within the District, Pinjarra was one of only two clubs to receive this award, notably with gold distinction.

Geoff thanked Wayne for the Award, and complimented the members of the Rotary Club of Pinjarra for their whole-hearted involvement and participation in the Club's activities. He stated the award reflected the health and culture that exists within the Pinjarra Club.
The Club's 2019-20 President Vince Costantino also presented PP Geoff with a framed embroidered work of the Rotary Fourt Way Test as an acknowledgement from the Club of the leadership Geoff had provided during his Presidential year.

International-Foundation Committee Director Murray Chapman then accepted on behalf of the club, a certificate from the Australian Rotary Heath Foundation in recognition of the Pinjarra Club’s contribution to Polio Plus uring the 2018-19 Rotary Year. Murray commented that although the work to rid the planet of polio disease, there was still work to be done. He thanked the Club members for the manner in which they embraced the project, as that support was instrumental to the significant funds which had been raised.
