The Rotary Club of Pinjarra has welcomed their 2024-25 Club Management group at a recent meeting at the Pinjarra Golf Club premises attended by some 70 guests including representatives of the Shire of Murray, Lions Club of Pinjarra, Rotary Western Australia, the Rotary Club of Mandurah Districts, Honorary Members of the Club, and Club members with their partners.
Outgoing President Miles Hewett addressed the audience, thanking the Club for their support during the past year. He also thanked the outgoing Directors for their contibutions, and particularly, to Murray Chapman, Adrian Fawcett, Geoff McLarty, and Geoff Booth who will be leaving the Club's Management Committee after years of service to it.

Miles mentioned some of the Club’s achievements during the past year before handing over the Presidency to Richard Hordacre.
Among the successfully completed projects during the 2023-24 year mentioned by President Miles, the Club has made donations to Peel YouthCare (formally known as School Chapliancy), and the Peel Community Garden.
The Club re-introduced a recognition of people who surpass expectations for exemplary vocational service through the Vocational Excellence Awards.  At the International level, the Club donated two Shelter Boxes following natural disasters in Morocco and Libya.
The Art Show Committee delivered the Annual Alcoa-Rotary Club of Pinjarra Art Show and Sale which was held during the early June long weekend. Despite the inclement weather which caused the cancellation of the Pinjarra Festival, the Art Show has continued to successfully remain an important event in the Shire’s Art calendar.
He also praised the Club members for their willingness to donate their time and energy into the various fund-raising projects which had been completed during the year; particularly assisting with the Art Boards Hire Project, the Art Show and Sale, and the Combined Peel Rotary Clubs Golf Day. Without these combined efforts, the Club could not have contributed to the various causes as successfully as it has done; so thank you to all who have helped.
