District Governor-Elect Bruce Lynch in a pensive mood

The Rotary Club of Pinjarra celebrated its 50th Anniversary at a well attended function on 18th of March. In the presence of DG Linda McLerie, Past DGs John Smith, John Kevan and Melody Kevan, and DGE Bruce Lynch, 110 members and guests were treated to some great history through displays, anecdotes from Charter Member Ernie Hogan, long standing member (49 years) Gordon McLarty and others. The formal celebration concluded with the cutting of the Anniversary cake by Charter Members Wynne Umbak, Ernie Hogan, Roger Boyd, Lance Rock, with Charter Secretary Athol Purchas (Mandurah Club) and the Presidents of Mandurah and Mandurah Districts. Combined with our club celebrations, we also celebrated the centennial of the Rotary Foundation, with PP Murray Chapman and DG Linda speaking about the work of the Foundation. DG Linda cut the cake to commemorate this wonderful occasion.
